Overall Grade: Excellent

Comment: Full-sized tourmaline with even bigger face-up near 13x10mm thanks to precision cut optimising depth without allowing a window. Originally a 7carat gem before re-cut. Note here, how true luster (not pleochroism) lights up a part of the gem while keeping the rest in a deep (not blackish) green. Its luster collects opposite of the main light direction and only stretches into the opposite direction with light falling in from straight above. Most tourmalines are color gems, luster is cream on top. Classic (not to be confused with 'mundane') Ceylon tourmaline in pure green, very different from the shiny neon blue-green found in other regions. No inclusions, no window, no treatments. Obviously a deep hue with little yellow, in Medium Dark 80, making for an intense full color similar to some pine trees in the north or lush jungle in the tropics. Big gem for a pendant or a ring over size 6. Not a flashy 'in-your-face' sparkler but a calm tone/hue combination with tranquil lustre.
