Comment: True chrome-tourmalines are rare beasts; reason enough to accept not only the perfect (as possible in some varieties) but also the simply 'good', like this 1.12ct on the very dark side, not black, always green but as dark as the eye can distinguish color. Our honest handshot shows you what 'Medium Dark 85' means in person. The other images demonstrate what chrome can do in tourmaline: It is an otherworldly green, not throughout the whole gem at a time, but an eureka of color under good light (similar to those very dark blue sapphires). Note the dimensions, 8x6mm and only 58% depth but no window, a trade-off due with the dark tone. A few minute inclusions are visible only under lens.
