Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: As deep and pure a green as the eye can perceive. Like in other hues, such density comes only in low tones, here Medium Dark 80 (with 0 = white and 100 = black). Despite the giant face-up (near 7x8mm) due to a shallow cut, the center does not become transparent but turns dark, thus the strong green sparkle runs around the relative small center facet. This is the common trade-off between a) strong color impression and b) a low tone, as well as a) big face and b) dark center. Since a re-cut would probably turn the gem under one carat, we decided to leave it as it is. Nevertheless, an impressive green gem with the intense hue found only the rare chrome varieties of some gem types (this being a true chrome-tourmaline, not only a chrome-green tourmaline). Lens clean crystal. With 7x8mm it can fill a ring-size 8/9 or even be used in a pendant.
