Comment: After a long dry-spell, almost a decade, several alexandrite-type color-change garnets have reached the market. These rarities exhibit a true color-change, between opposing hues on the color wheel, like good alexandrite, from blue and green to red and purple. In mixed light settings, most appear green-blue with red-purple flashes inside. Under pure tungsten light, candle, torches, they turn fully red-purple, especially for the camera, but there, too, you may catch the opposing flash of green or blue. All-in-all a wonder of nature, but also a challenge for the camera, to say the least. This 1.08 surprised with strong red sparks under direct sunlight but the camera would not catch the effect despite muscle cramps from uncommon positioning of both gem and lens. See it in person. Most alexandrites dream of this quality of color change or have nightmares about such garnets. This 1.08 fulfills our 3*NO standard, inclusions under the lens only, no window etc. with IGI report, free shipping and all.
P.S. The soft rose color in the hand-shots is one you will probabaly NEVER see in person all-over the gem. In person, the rose hue is more a background impression, while the eye catches deep green-blue with red and purple flashes, or vice-versa.
