Comment: Color-shifting Tanzanian rhodolite, as reported from GIA last year. Moving from a violet-ish pink-purple to a deep purple red. The former a blazing aggressive hue, the latter a warm ruby-like red, as we have come to love it in good rhodolite. Almost four carat with an even bigger face close to six carats, but no window thanks to the Medium Dark 75. Promising many 'OMG, what a nice ruby!' from the uninitiated; if you care for little compliments, and who doesn't? The truth is at your service; declare: 'No, this is color-shifting rhodolite!' and all the better for your standing. No visible inclusions under the lens, except the must-have thinnest needles providing the glowing silky crystal. A natural indent on the backside does not count as inclusion.
