Comment: Always asked from us, but we couldn't find a true Italian source without doing harm to the little remaining coral environment. This, and future coral, comes from old stock, harvested long ago, when coral was plentiful and humans didn't yet imagine they could plunder the vast areas to death. Sad but unchangeable history aside, we can now offer limited quantities of first grade quality red Italian coral from old stock, as this one, and in up-to 4 carats per piece, different shapes and up-to two dozen each. Important for natural coral is color (here it is more a question of personal taste than in inorganic gemstones, but vibrant red is considered the most valauble) and treatment (too plentiful in types to name plus legions of synthetics, imitations etc. etc). This near 6mm round cabochon is natural and untreated, which the accompanying IGI-report will document for your descendants. For these special products we will donate to the best Ocean-preservation charity on-top-off our usual rainforest protection and animal rights group. Can be set as single stone into a ring, or used as pair for earrings, or with several brothers and sisters we can offer pendants or bracelets or 'eternity' bands. Judge the extra fine quality in the close-up below: immaculate color and surface texture.
