Comment: On my excursions into Mexican opal, I came across this rare form of quartz (yes, quartz, the white gem, but via chalcedony, this is an opaque form of quartz... simply put). Fire agate does not change color or glitters in rainbow hues but I found it pretty enough to join in our new opal section. As the images show well, we have smooth chocolate and caramels colors, mahogany with an orange 'fire' glow its own iridescence, all in frozen lava formations. It its free-form polished shape, a most unique pendant is calling. Not simple or plain but a calm gem character (especially when formerly busy with mind-boggling opals). IGI certified, so you know you do not have colored glass or the by-product of some chemical process around your neck.
