Comment: Deep red-purple with a dash of orange and violet. This broad color combo is the result of pleochroism, not the step-by-step color zoning seen in 'watermelon' or multicolor tours such as this. Colors therefor mix in different parts depending on viewing angle. Flawless handcut. Inclusions only for the sharp-eyed and under the lens. 3Nos quality. No window and untreated. IGI classified as 'rubellite' though I'd not sign to 'pink-purple' but rather 'red-purple'. Not a jump-up neon color but a dense glowing character with always changing hues and tones. Elegant non-pushy beauty for a solitaire center stone in ring size up to 6. More difficult than green to find a matching pair for studs but not impossible.
