Comment: Would I love this to be a sapphire? Oh, yes! The ideal mix of orange and pink in just the right tone. Perfect. But it is 'only' tourmaline and some purists reserve the label rubellite only for red or dark purple-pink tourmalines. Other than in sapphire, the difference doesn't matter for its price-tag plus the color combination is less rare in tourmaline than in corundum. If you recall 0.96, with only 0.2ct less weight and over a full millimeter less in size, that smaller gem clearly fell into the rubellite section but that is not the reason for their price difference, at least not here. This 1.16 is a far milder character, like padparadscha BTW, a soft glittering gem as opposed to the screaming 0.96, never-mind the missing millimeter. Compare the close-ups into the two center points showing not only the precision cut but also the difference in color. If the main images irritate you with reflection, take the color from the close-up below. In tourmaline this lotus color is just one of all possible color combinations. Traders would sell their mothers (-in-law) for that orange pink in a sapphire, but in tourmaline it's only an also-pretty hue. Don't ask for rational in fashion. Fulfills our 3*Nos standard of quality: No treatments, no window, no inclusions (lens only). The images reflect the IRL experience pretty well, so I'll stop before diving into any other gem issue. Like 0.96, only less expensive, this gem comes with the same global shipping, NhRP support and a plot with WTL, its original IGI report, grading papers and all you need to enjoy a gem. Ask us for suitable settings.
P.S. The IGI image is not of much value.
