Overall Grade: Very Good+

Comment: Fine paraiba-type tourmaline in bright neon green. As the images show the center is shallow but the color is simply unresistible. We have discussed re-cut but with the center still flashing green, no inclusions and a face-up of almost 10x8mm, this is one of the rare cases where a mild window might just be the better option. Compare the two shots on grey, one with more light and a darker opposite side, the other without luster and evenly distributed color. A modernized lab report may show 'copper' but may-be not, and it wouldn't matter, since, as seen so many times, 'elbaite cuprian' alone does not guarantee a great gem, while some tourmaline with the right amount of copper can be outstanding, literally. Easy pendant size, or rings over 6, max 10.
