Comment: Hand-cut with high crown, a traditional, almost antique, brilliant cutting style. Obviously very effective: zero black-out (ignore handshot for that purpose) and no window in almost 8mm round from mere two+ carats. Deepest red-orange imaginable, no brown, no yellow, no grey. Never pale, never dark. Famous old Namibian stock, long sold out. Round is a welcomed but less frequent shape in most gems. Beautiful inclusions can be studied under the lens, only - two waterlilies and a feather sit almost vertically inside the gem; thus, they are not visible to the unaided eye but they re-scatter rays of light on their way through the gem and add inner life and glitter. The antique cutting would suggest a similarly styled setting, perhaps even in yellow gold and with a hammered or brushed surface. Mandarine Garnet's brighter yellow orange, by comparison, needs to be contrasted in white gold or platinum less it 'disappears' inside the metal. This deep and rich hue, at times more red than orange, as you can see under 'more images', could stand its own ground in yellow gold. Visible and elegant but never pushy.
