Comment: Here is another example of the broad appeal our new stock-members bring to the table. This is the biggest gem of last year's mining. Autumnal hues, contrasted with adamantine sparkle and supplemented by a faint schiller effect. If set in jewellery it must be a pendant. Always changing and flickering with different colours. I could shoot another dozen images without showing half of what the gem offers. The main image was captured in pure daylight on a cloudy Winter day, indoors. Some of the other images have common indoor lights added (the Winter day getting too dark). As all the images show this is a trichroic gem with at least three main colours: Green, yellow and orange... all in mild earthy tones. Though we have secured another stone near the 10 carat mark (YOS948), such sizes are rare finds, with normal production reaching only 2 or 3 carats. Though graded as 'free of inclusions' you may, under the lens and on our show-all-photos, perceive silvery lines that run parallel through the stone (e.g. near horizontal in the handshot). These are the copper bands that produce the so called 'schiller' in Sunstones. Though spectacular in the details the overall character of the gem is earth-bound and natural. As with the other Sunstones, we will provide an additional full certificate if you give us a few extra days.
