Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: This Sunstone's delicate mix of yellow and orange reminds of padparadscha (minus the pink perhaps) with its gentle yet fascinating colour melange. As you see in the handshot it is NOT a wildly posh stone but subtle and mild, close to skin tones (again like pads). Unfortunately it would be too much of a tongue-twister to call this a 'Sunset Sunstone' but I would not be surprised to find such a wording somewhere. In case you didn't see the other presentations, this is the original all-natural copper-bearing USA Sunstone and has nothing to do with beryllium treated feldspar or andesine from China. This is a di- or tri-chroic colour effect with orange and yellow in the front and some green in the side views. A set of tiny inclusions (that are not copper-strands AKA schiller) can be seen only under the lens. I have also added a photo under tungsten light because Sunstones deserve extra attention under indoors light settings.
