Comment: Orange in all its varieties and tones. Study the side images and close-ups: seemingly liquid pearls of copper 'jungle-islands' float in parallel layers horizontally to the cutting table, thus they are invisible from the front and yet they produce schiller, one of the exciting optical phenomena in Sunstones. Concave cuts do play particularly well with the schiller and colour zoning in Sunstones. Be warned that Sunstones are very big compared to other gems, so keep in mind that as such 6 carats need a cocktail type ring-setting or must go into a pendant. Mild sunset hue combined with a flashy sparkle (courtesy of the concave cut) give this gem an elegant but not pushy character. GIA certified untreated, original Sunstone, top-notch cutting, and all else a gem-lover might demand. The current parcel of Sunstones come from the finest 1% of several years of mining, all flawless and extraordinary.  They have been graded as 'Excellent' not from lazy habit or wish-full-thinking but because they are the top of their kind picked from thousands of lesser ones that have gone into the mass market.
