Comment: Wild Fish presents: Oregon Sunstone. (Forget andesine from China.) This is the original all-natural copper-bearing US Sunstone. Like Opal, they offer a life-time study of gem phenomena ranging from 'simple' colour-change, to iridescence, di-, tri- and quad-chroic colour effects, multi-colours, aventurescence and a world of inclusions and their optical effects. This giant 9.48 carat shows three colours (yellow, orange and some green) depending on where and how you look with a orange centre and golden yellow rays. Thin copper strands produce the faint sheen but they are not visible under the 10fold lens. Note: 'Free of Inclusions' in Sunstone is as rare as it is in say, Ruby but we still have that gleam and shimmer that comes from the sub-10fold micro-inclusions of copper. Add highest brilliancy, adamantine lustre and excellent cutting and you are looking at a world-class rarity. A head-turner in jewellery, I suggest in a mighty pendant, or simply an heirloom collector item. The small BGL reports will be supplemented by IGI or AGL reports. Though mined in the USA we will nevertheless get you a piece of rainforest to preserve for your grandkids.
