Comment: Most likely the last pair of round alexandrites from Fort Victoria, Zimbabwe, at least from us, and we are to my knowledge the only company carrying these faceted alexandrites. Drop me a line if you see some elsewhere, we also like to know. If you have not yet done so but are interested in these color-changers, please read a bit through the other Victoria alexandrites, so I can concentrate on uniqueness, rather than to reiterating the many similarities (clarity, size, dark tone, etc.). In this pair, it is the strong blue (captured in the main image and under normal artificial daylight-office-standard) which sets them apart from others. This blue then produces different characters of the deep purple in mixed light, and also influences the green under direct daylight; although, as always, with a few reddish-purple streaks pushing through. The strong red under tungsten light remains a surprising view even after several encounters. Such a vivid ruby red replacing the, on photo harder to capture, green or blue is hardcore gem-magic; unprecedented in alexandrite from different origins (so far). Of course, sparkling clarity AND a good color-change, like in this 0.66, is highly priced but a 100% switch from green or blue to red has never been found in transparent alexandrite. Studs or sidestones for jewelry but be aware these are dark gems, needing good light and lots of attention, even more than other color-changers.
