Overall Grade: Very Good+

Comment: Thin cabochon with a mild orange crystal-clear body. IGI classified it as 'fire opal' but it borders to a transparent crystal. Compare with 0.87 which is smaller in face-up size but similar in weight. The lower dome produces a different type of color-play, more fleeting, faster moving and with quicker changes of color but a similar variety and breadth of hues, yet NOT suitable for a matching pair. Lots of color magic and opal surprises, again with otherwise unmentioned blue-violet shown in the main see-through image (not a sky reflection and also in IGI image). Transparent crystal without inclusions under the lens. Unbeatable Welo quality at the current low prices thanks to a full supply chain, as long as it lasts. The low profile (as in 'flat') can easily be protected in daily-wear ring without fear of damaging the gem.
