Comment: Most master cutters use big, still better giant, amethyst to plan their newest symmetric phantasies and award-winning designs. Smaller amethysts are mostly cut in standard design where we pick up only the extra fine colors. Unfortunately, that leaves us with the truly outstanding cuts as to big to use in extravagant bespoke jewelry (even in pendants often too clunky). Here is a relatively small gem with all the bells and whistles of a high-end precision cut. See the stems of tropical flowers in the close-up image and then continue to zoom out into the full face view where the whole gem is filled with these little flowers. With 8x8mm still a ringsize gem. Except for the rare color wonders which we sometimes catch and display, amethyst are valued for these fancy cuts, for the extra work invested into new shapes, perfect polish and their final perfection. In smaller sizes the invested work remains the same while the per carat price shots up into areas reserved for the few extra rare super lush colored specimen. This 3.49 catches a bit of both worlds, with the purple brigthened up with a dash of pink or orange, best seen in the handshots, and the cutting details reserved for the usual stand alone images.
