Comment: From the wild Pamir mountains of Tajikistan comes this golden clinohumite. A yet little known, but very pretty lush orange-yellow gem-variety within the family of 'humites'. Rare in this clarity (no inclusions to the unaided eye) and facet quality. Marvelous color-itensity in yellow gems. Flawless handcut, no window. 7x6mm from only 1.27 carat. Rare gems like these have been made available to the casual gem-loving public only lately, via the web. Discovered a mere 150 years ago by Sir Hume, and only 20 years ago found first in facet quality (such as this 1.27). Thanks to the web you can now own such rarities without wasting your money traveling to Basel-World, or risking your neck in Tajikistan.
