Comment: There has been some branding fuss about these mind-boggling garnets since they have been discovered (longer than some want to admit). They were called Mahenge garnets reminding of the legendary spinels that came from the same area. Can't agree. They definitely are NOT Malaya garnets. I will stick with simple rhodolite, even if of the finest kind ever found. Dark but never extinct. When hit by light, even a little, they blow up in neon pink-purple sparkle-mode. In tone-character comparable to the best rubies and sapphires, darkening ever further and then some but never losing color. No inclusions under the lens though I would not be surprised if younger eyes found a needle or a bubble somewhere, lens-only, however, there is nothing that would qualify as disturbance to the gems amazing beauty. Same family as 3.02 but perfect in all dimensions, no inclusions, precision cut, full brilliancy etc. Such gems are dignified beauties, very different from 0.96 being a full blast of here-I-am, as opposed to something that will not beg for your attention but if you are lucky or educated enough to notice quality it will hit you even harder. One of the finest garnets in my memory.
P.S. Oh, I just remembered that trillion we used as logo many years ago. Both gems are equally terrific but that precision-cut trillion was super photogenic on top and sometimes a photo is just perfect. Small image added. You will recall it if you are with us for a while.
