Comment: Here you can study the obvious difference between a high-grade Tanzanian rhodolite and a Malaya garnet, even if it came from Sri Lanka; both in the same classic brilliant hand-cut and with the same local lapidary technology. Witness the aggressive color with the as-good-as-diamond brilliancy that has made Tanzanian rhodolites so powerful, and famous. Similar to a bright red ruby but with the luster of a demantoid garnet, so that even a not-yet-5mm round brilliant will catch attention and praise. Small but as visible as it gets. In a few years or decades, when no more rhodolite are found in Tanzania, somebody will come up with a special brand-name and the price-carousel will begin again. Alone, or with a diamond halo, these 44 points will fill a lady's ring, and delight. Note, how a diamond halo becomes an accessory for garnet. Again, fulfilled are the quality "3-Nos": no window, no visible inclusions, no treatments; plus 'best color' and 'full brilliancy'. The inclusions are in fact tiny red dots, as you can see in the magnified images, improving rather than muddying the crystal.
P.S. This 0.44 has a sister or brother to make a matching pair in case you have such plans.
