Comment: Purple has its charms, right? Though not particularly popular these centuries, it has been THE divine royal color for long periods of human history. Like the famous dark blue and red hues in sapphire and ruby, this deep purple is not a fast-consumption color but needs light and time to be fully appreciated and opens itself not in one viewing but in a few sparks here and a small fire there, extra-terrestial thrills, elusive and magic. As the others from this parcel, they move deeper into red at night, nibbling at ruby's heels. Small but powerful. Note how the main image here focusses only on the front of the gem, while the others (in our standard set-up) capture the inside of a gem, revealing all inclusions, little imperfections and the silky crystal itself. These 'focus-on-surface' images are beautiful but they give you much less information about the gem. BTW: These Rhodolites are from the same mine as the article by GIA described. Clear proof how rhodolite has become one of the most famous and valuable types of red garnet.
