Comment: Bright green Tsavorite in a spectacular German precision cut. With well over two carats and over 9x6mm, this is a rare find for Tsavorite garnets. A bright intense green undisturbed by any inclusions, the crystal fluid and sparkly. The hue is not the result of yellow as secondary hue, but simply a low toned green with Medium 50. This is typical for the Merelani mines in Tanzania, also called Mint or Merelani Garnets, a sub-category of Tsavorite. The intense color combined with adamantine luster makes them outstanding jewelry gems. Only green diamonds can beat their show but they are either artificially colored or too costly to show-off at leisure. This gem will fill even a gent's ring of size 8 or 9, and any size with a full bezel. For a lady's ring a size 5 should be considered the smallest option. Ever rarer material with no new sources reported.
