Comment: Neon green tsavorite in serious size, flawless, precision cut, free of inclusions, no window, no treatments. With near 9x8mm a big face even for two and a half carats. Tsavorite is one of the few varieties combining adamantine luster with intense color, and the only to do the trick in shiny green (even green diamond don't glow like this). In tilt, the center opens to a blossom shape, which is a nice extra for the attentive eye. As the images show this is a bright green with Medium 50 (Merelani style) and a radiating intensity not found in the deeper tones. With few tsavorite crossing one carat, and even less so two carats, this 2.46 is a world class gem in size and quality. It will happily fill a size 8 ring. For bigger designs with sidestones or halo a less lustrous variety would be suitable, perhaps small cabochons in red or rose to contrast the center beam. Finest tsavorites will never be cheap(er). A few years hence they will beat emeralds and such rare perfection will move into the $10k+ section.
