Comment: Every natural opal (that excludes doublets, triplets, plastic-covered, oiled, sugared, waxed, dyed, and smoked gems) is utterly unique and always different. For a passionate gem photographer this means an endless temptation to shot 'one more'. So is was here, this 3.53, though just a 'normal' quality, emptied the camera batteries and got muscles cramping (not to speak of increasing the 'average time worked per gem'). Some of the extras we found worthy to show: A Yin-Yang shaped color-zone on the underside, red laser-spots in sunlight, weather maps, neon-green jungle-visions, and much more - all shot in natural, or rather 'common', light situations like office light, tungsten, sunlight, and mixes thereof. The color zone is a so-called 'dead-spot' but it is where we found the red laser spot under sunlight. DSEF classified its body color as grey-white, but it is more a bright moss green to my eyes, however, it gives this opal a 'sales' sign with all its uniqueness and beauty.
